Renault Trucks Scotland is working in partnership with ‘the most famous bagpipe band on the planet’ – the Red Hot Chilli Pipers – to support their ‘Octane Tour’ which runs until 30th December 2016. Two Renault Trucks Master 145 Euro-6 crew vans, supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland, will transport eight musicians and five crew across Europe for the Bagrockers’ German and UK tour dates.
Commenting on the partnership with Renault Trucks Scotland, Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ Director, Kevin MacDonald, says: “Thanks to the team at Renault Trucks Scotland, our ‘Octane Tour’ is now on the road. The Master is great to drive, very spacious for the driver and there’s excellent load space for a medium wheelbase van – we’re looking forward to heading off to Germany!”
Renault Trucks Scotland’s Calum Aiken, a piper himself and a big fan of the band, was thrilled to be able to support the Red Hot Chilli Pipers: “When I realised that they were in urgent need of transport for the upcoming tour, I knew we could supply a couple of Master crew vans within the timescale and was pleased to be able to help out at short notice.”
Promoting ‘Octane’, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ new album, the 27-date tour kicked off in Hamburg on 29th October and features the band’s signature ‘Bagrock’ sound, a powerful fusion of traditional tunes and rock anthems that includes ‘Fat Bottom Girls’, ‘The Way it is’, ‘Jump’ and ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’.
